Mackenzie has always loved fashion and the art of turning shapeless fabric into gorgeous designs. From a young age she wanted to design beautiful dresses. In pursuit of her dream, she studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. Excelling in her studies, she went on to participate in FIDM‘s prestigious Debut program where she spent a year crafting a runway collection from start to finish. Working on a collection filled with elegant and eclectic gowns truly helped bring her passion for evening wear to life.
After school, Mackenzie went on to work at one of the top design brands in LA for five years. During this time she worked on perfecting her talents in women‘s wear, from design to technical fittings for the final product. While working in the industry, friends began to ask her to design their custom wedding gowns. As she worked one-on-one with each bride to create their unique and stunning gowns, she quickly realized her newfound passion for wedding gown design.
Over the past seven years of creating custom gowns, Mackenzie has come to understand that each bride has a unique/special idea of what she envisions for her wedding day look. However, it is was very common for a bride to find elements in different gowns that she wishes she could mix and match to make her perfect dress. With that in mind, Mackenzie set out to make a collection of primarily mix and match tops and skirts so a bride could do just that by making each gown personal for its owner. Every gown is handcrafted in the United States and is made from the finest fabrics fabrics. Her gowns evoke a sense of feminine ease from the lightweight airy fabrics to delicate French lace. Each gown is meant to bring out the inner beauty of the bride, not to overshadow it.
Mackenzie currently lives in the Phoenix area with her husband, Daniel, whom she met during the dawn of her desire to create custom wedding dresses. They have been married for two years and have enjoyed growing this business together, as he has always been and continues to be supportive of pursuing her dream and passion. With his background in business and her creative mind, they are excited to see what is yet to come!
Elizabeth Mackenzie wants to be part of the solution, not the problem when it comes to the fashion industry. The integrity of the company was built on the idea that each wedding gown should be a positive impact to the people and environment around us.
We want our brides to feel good about the products they are buying from us. All gowns are handcrafted in the United States and we strive to bring our brides the highest quality fabrics from vendors who are doing their part in improving the fashion industry standards.
